Obituary of Gladys Turner

Mrs. Gladys Marie Callaway Turner, age 74, of Jonesboro passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in a Spalding County Healthcare Facility. A native of Bolingbroke in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. William Alton Callaway and the late Mrs. Virginia Marie Walker Callaway. She was the widow of Mr. Mark E. Turner, and was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Bertha English of Milner, by a brother, Mr. Charles A. Callaway of Barnesville, and by two nephews, John Robert English and James Larry English, both of Milner. Mrs. Turner was a Home Maker and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Milner. Survivors include: 2 Sisters: Mrs. Dorothy E. Loyd of Conley & Mrs. Carolyn C. Crawford of Hampton ; 3 Brothers: Mr. William Paul Callaway of Milner, Mr. Harold Franklin Callaway of Zellwood, FL, & Mr. Benjamin Claude Callaway of Thomaston ; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Mrs. Gladys Callaway Turner will be conducted Friday, May 29, 2009 at 3 O’Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Franklin Gibson, Rev. Hugh Smith, Sr., Rev. Swayne Poole, and Rev. Ben Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Milner Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Thursday evening, May 28, 2009 from 6pm until 8pm. Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville is in charge of arrangements.
