Obituary of Walter Carter

Mr. Walter Aaron Carter, age 89, of Barnesville passed away Thursday, May 29, 2009 in a Barnesville Healthcare Facility. A native of Pike County, he was the son of the late Mr. Otis Lovett Carter and the late Mrs. Eugenia Davis Carter. Mr. Carter was Retired from the W.T. Raleigh Company, and had worked in Security for several of the William Carter Company Plants in the local area. He was a World War II Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Pike County. Survivors include: Wife: Ronnell Carter of Barnesville ; Daughters: Diane Owens, and her husband, Reggie of Albany ; & Jan Driskell of Barnesville ; Sons: Kenneth Carter, and his wife, Melisa of Pike County ; Bruce Carter, and his wife Anita of Milner ; Daryl Phillips, and his wife, Linda of Conyers ; 2 Sisters: Juanita Brooks, and her husband, Lamont ; & Etta Buffington ; 1 Brother: Edmund Carter ; 8 Grandchildren ; & a number of Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Walter Carter will be conducted Saturday morning, May 30, 2009 at 11 O’Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Reverend Harvey Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday evening, May 29, 2009 from 6pm until 8pm.
