Obituary of Lavada Maddox

Mrs. Lavada Barlow Maddox, age 84, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at an Upson County Healthcare Facility. Mrs. Maddox is the daughter of the late Mr. Wright Barlow and the late Mrs. Myrtle Ethel Gardner Barlow, and was also preceded in death by her Husband, Mr. Lonnie Grady Maddox, and by her brother, Mr. William Barlow. Mrs. Maddox retired as a Seamstress from The William Carter Company. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church and had recently joined Bethel Baptist Church in Milner. Mrs. Maddox loved her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilt making and crocheting. Mrs. Maddox was the Matriarch of her family. Survivors include: 1 Son – Lonnie Maddox (& Becky) of Fayetteville Ga.; 1 Daughter – Vicki Maddox Clayton (& Terry) of Live Oak Fl.; 1 Sister – Jimmie Lee Fields of Barnesville Ga.; 1 Brother – Tim Barlow (& Cris) of Augusta ; 2 Sisters in Law –Betty Barlow and Cornelia Maddox ; 5 Grandchildren - Dedra Davis, Dawn Davis, Daniel (& Nikki) Clayton, Matt Maddox and Erin Maddox; 2 Great Grandchildren - Dane Stratton and Drew Maddox; and 2 Dear Friends – Jean McBroom and Kackie Faulkner. Funeral Services for Mrs. Lavada Barlow Maddox will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11 O’clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Reverend Swayne Poole officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens.
