Obituary of Doris Sanders

Mrs. Doris Maurine Donaldson Sanders, age 97, of Barnesville passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 in a Henry County Healthcare Facility. A native of Elgin, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Winston Robert Donaldson and the late Mrs. Goldie Yandon Donaldson, and the wife of the late Mr. Quillian Hilton Sanders. Mrs. Sanders was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne Sanders, and by her brother, Winston R. Donaldson. Mrs. Sanders was a lifetime member of the VFW, she volunteered selling poppies at Buggy Days, and worked daily on her crossword puzzles. She was also an avid Gardener, and enjoyed reading books (especially romantic novels). Mrs. Sanders was Retired from The William Carter Company, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville for nearly 50 years. Mrs. Sanders is survived by: 2 Sons – William F. “Bill” Sanders (& Janet) of Gainesville, and John R. Sanders (& Nancy) of Warner Robins ; 2 Daughters – Barbara S. Krieg (& Steven) of Stockbridge, and Margie S. Mathis (& Phillip) of Covington ; 8 Grandchildren – Candice (& Billy), Joanna, Shana, Troy, Gary (& Annie), Michael (& Jessica), Naomi (& Glenn), & Calem ; and 6 Great Grandchildren – Abby, Lexy, Starrla, Denny, Aubrey, & Gavin. Funeral Services for Mrs. Doris Sanders will be conducted Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2 O’Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Reverend Garth Forster officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Monday, March 30th from 1:00pm until the service hour.
