Obituary of Vivian Batchelor

Mr. Vivian Thompson Batchelor Sr., age 81, of Barnesville, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in a Spalding County healthcare facility. He was preceded in death by his Father, the late Mr. David Vivian Batchelor and by his Mother, the late Mrs. Rosa Mae Caldwell Batchelor. Mr. Batchelor was employed by the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home and was a retired Captain in the National Guard. He was a graduate of Gordon College and held a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University. Mr. Batchelor was a member of Aldora United Methodist Church and a longtime member and faithful servant of Pine View Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon and was the Chairman of the finance committee. Mr. Batchelor worked hard all his life, providing for his family and his Church. Survivors include: Wife – Rebecca Anne Fossett Batchelor; 2 Daughters – Gail Underwood (& Steve), and Rosanne Folds (& Keith), 2 Sons – Tommy Batchelor (& Cathy), and Lt. Col. Eric Batchelor, U. S. Army (& Kirstin); Sister – Patricia Ballard; Brother - Anthony Batchelor (& Mary); and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Vivian Thompson Batchelor Sr. will be conducted Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1 O’clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Sherri Studdard officiating, interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Thornwell Home for Children in Clinton, South Carolina or to the Little Children of the World.
