When I was little there was a man who taught me how to throw, catch and hit a baseball. He turned me loose in a truck in the front yard and told me to just hot hit a tree. When I broke my collar bone he drove like a moron to get me to the hospital but I got there. He told us stories of flying planes in the USAF. He eve...n showed me places him and my grandmother used to go to here in Savannah. But he has gone and won't be able to teach or tell Mine or my sisters children these same things. We had our issues but deep down he was loved and will be missed. Tomorrow everyone says goodbye to my Paw paw. He may be gone I know that things he taught me will be passed on. Even now I follow in his footsteps by being involved with the Cub Scouts and teaching these boys some of the things he taught me. So he will never be forgotten just like my grandmother who left us 20 years ago.
I wish I could have made it up there. However I know that it did bring him joy when I came to the hospital and visit him just a few weeks before he left us. He smiled so bright to see me in a Cub Scout leaders uniform. I will never forget how proud he told me that he was of me and he wanted to teach Colin how to throw a ball. I will make sure that that lesson is one Colin learns.

I am thinking about you. My Mother loved that Jack! And I did, too. Love to all of you.
