Obituary of James Sherwood

Mr. James “Richard” Sherwood, age 74, of Barnesville passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010 in a Spalding County Healthcare Facility. Born in Henry County, to the late Mr. William Elton Sherwood and the late Mrs. Nevada Frances Floyd Sherwood, he had made his home in Lamar County for a number of years. Mr. Sherwood Retired from Delta Airlines as an Avionics Mechanic after 39½ years. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Barnesville. Survivors include: His wife - Mrs. Jan Sherwood of Barnesville ; 1 Son - James Richard Sherwood, Jr. (& Michele) of Barnesville ; 4 Daughters - Terri Walker (& Rusty) of Locust Grove ; Robin Laskey (& Dwayne) of Peachtree City ; Amy Hoke (& Kenny) of Decatur ; & Leigh Still (& Gary) of McDonough ; 2 Sisters - Joyce Grimes of Pensacola, FL ; & Jean Steele of Gloucester, VA ; 14 Grandchildren ; & 14 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. James “Richard” Sherwood will be conducted Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 11 O’Clock in The First United Methodist Church of Barnesville with the Reverend Jay Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday evening (2-2-10) from 6pm until 8pm.
