Obituary of Betty Tatum
Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Phillips Tatum, age 81, of Milner, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 in a Lamar County Healthcare facility. A native of Stone Mountain, Mrs. Tatum was preceded in death by her Father Mr. William Walter Phillips, her Mother Mrs. Bertie Lee Rudasill Phillips, her Husband, Mr. Carl Dewitt Tatum, her companion Mr. Clyde Christopher, her Brother Mr. Melmeth Walter Phillips, her Sister Mrs. Bonnie Lee Howell, her Brother Mr. Luther Allen Phillips, her Brother Mr. Albert Dewight Phillips, and her Daughter Ms. Betty Yvonne Tatum. Mrs. Tatum was a Home maker, a wonderful Mother, Grand Mother, and Great Grand Mother. She was a Christian Lady, a member of Rock Springs Church and was always willing to help anyone.
Survivors include: 2 Sons – Ronald L. Richardson (& Virginia) of Conyers and John Tatum (& Sherry) of Milner ; 1 Daughter – Pat Austin (& Chris) of Barnesville ; 9 Grandchildren – Nicole Buckner (& Michael), Joseph Richardson, Eric Richardson, Priscilla Kidd (& Todd), Elizabeth Edmonson (& Jason), Krystal Winters (& Tommy), Briana Norton (& Thomas), Karen Hall (& Zack), and Jeremy Tatum ; - 8 Great Grandchildren ; 2 Special friends – Bill & Judy Christopher ; and 1 Sister-In-Law - Dixie Austin.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Phillips Tatum will be conducted Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of the Williams Funeral Home with the Reverend Ryan Christopher officiating. Interment will follow Tuesday afternoon at 3 O’clock in the Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellenwood, GA (now known as the Calvary Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery). The family will receive friends on Monday, November 9 at Williams Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
