Obituary of Sterling Sumner

Mr. Sterling “David” Sumner, Sr., age 64, of Barnesville, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Galax, Virginia and was the son of the late Mr. Columbus Clyde Sumner and the late Mrs. Linda Pauline Sumner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Shirley Candace Farmer Sumner, and a brother, Frank Sumner. Mr. Sumner was a truck driver and was a hardworking, simple man. Survivors include: 1 Daughter- Bobbie Jo Sumner; 1 Son- Sterling David Sumner, Jr.; 2 Brothers- Clyde Eugene Sumner and Lonnie Sumner; 1 Sister- Susie Hanks (& Jimmy); 1 Nephew- Jason Sumner; Others relatives also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. David Sumner will be conducted Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11 O’ clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Reverend Lonnie Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 6pm until 8pm.
