Obituary of Laura Sue Fleming
Mrs. Laura Sue Fleming, age 62, of Barnesville, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
A native of Barnesville, Laura was born on Thursday, October 20, 1955 to the late Basil “Tubby” Haywood Usery and the late Mary Grace Ware Usery. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Russel Usery. Laura was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville and was a nurse for 42 years. She was a perinatal coordinator at Upson Regional Medical Center and served as Director of Nursing at Heritage Inn Nursing Home. Laura’s family and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was the founder of the Buggy Days Pageant that benefited the PLARC, a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International honor society of nursing. Laura enjoyed traveling, was a consummate story teller, and never met a stranger. She believed that if you couldn’t add to the story don’t bother telling it.
Laura is survived by her loving husband, Kelles Fleming; children and their spouses, Lacy & Jeremy Worthy and Jeremy & Tara Ogletree; step-children, Jeremy Fleming and Megan Fleming; grandchildren, Brantley Worthy and Laura Grace Worthy; brother, George & Joanne Usery; special nieces and nephews, Chad Usery, Stacey Tenney, Kristy Usery, and Kelly Usery.
A funeral service for Mrs. Laura Sue Fleming will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Reverend Garth Forster officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
