Obituary of James Matthew Wright

Mr. James Matthew “Matt” Wright, age 45, of Griffin, formerly of Barnesville, GA passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital.

 

Mr. Wright was born on Saturday, September 8, 1973 in Portsmith, Virginia. Matt served in the Navy and attended New Walk Fellowship Church. He never met a stranger and was an expert of all things Star Wars. He was a scholar of Obscure facts, master of trivia, a proud Eagle Scout and a devoted Pittsburg Steelers fan.

 

Matt is survived by his wife, Rhonda Tallman Wright; children, Amber and Timothy Morris, Daniel Denham, Ashley Denham, and Stephanie Denham; grandchildren, Nova Denham and Abel Brown; parents, Bob and Patti Wright; brothers, Bobby Wright, John Wright and Richard Wright; he was known as “Manny” to his nieces, Kati, Chloe and Addi.

 

A memorial service for Mr. Matt Wright will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Pastor James McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the service hour. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, 712 Locust Grove-Griffin Road, Locust Grove, GA 30248 in memory of Matt.
